      Amphibious / Soft Terrain Equipment

marsh buggy

Tassin Marine's amphibious division is suited to meet your soft terrain needs. Our full line of amphibious equipment (marsh buggies) which we manufacture ourselves are capable of handling any shallow water or soft terrain job. Call or e-mail us for rates or new construction information.

The Tassin name is the most recognized and respected name in the marsh buggie business. In the 1930's, Joe Tassin, innovated the first known marsh buggie to be used in the oilfield industry. Here are photos of the first buggies used.

Through the years buggies have taken drastic changes due to technology and experimentation. This is what they looked liked in the early 1950's.

After 60 years of trial and error we have developed the most reliable, versatile, and money saving marsh equipment in the world. Our marsh buggies can be fitted with any type of excavator, dragline, hyd. cranes, seismograph equipment, etc. to perform any need you may have. All of our buggies are capable of working in any soft terrain and float across canals, ponds, or lakes.

This marsh/dragline was used in a sugar cane disposal area. The buggie first had to climb the 20'high wall of the pit at a 70 degree angle to enter the pit (no problem for these powerful, diesel driven buggies). We then excavated a canal and stock piled the material in the center.

A marsh/backhoe like the one above equipped with a tree grapple was used in clearing this 300' right of way. Marsh/backhoes and marsh/draglines were then used to build a hurricane protection levee in the right of way.

This marsh/dragline was used to drive 40' steel casings into the marsh. The 100' steel power line poles in the background were then set inside the casings. The smaller buggie to the right was used in transporting equipment and personnel in and out of the marsh. There was a third buggie equipped with cement equipment used to cement the poles in place.
